Emergency Medical Technician

The Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) performs skilled work in basic emergency care within the pre-hospital setting. Serving as a member of a two-person response team, the EMT represents both themselves and Pennsylvania Ambulance with professionalism at all times. As the designated provider of basic life support, the EMT is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, following established medical protocols, and assisting in all aspects of emergency response and transport.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical examinations and assess patients’ medical conditions.
  • Provide urgent care and patient care in emergency situations.
  • Utilize aseptic techniques to prevent infection during procedures.
  • Manage airways effectively and monitor vital signs throughout treatment.
  • Communicate medical terminology clearly with other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in transport of patients.
  • Drive emergency response vehicles safely and efficiently to the scene of incidents.
  • Document patient information accurately and maintain detailed records of care provided.
  • Collaborate with other medical personnel to ensure comprehensive patient care.

Qualifications

  • PA State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification.
  • Valid EMSVO enforcement
  • Knowledge of PA BLS protocols and procedures.
  • Proficient in performing physical examinations and assessing vital signs.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to emergency medicine.
  • Strong skills in airway management and urgent care practices.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure in high-stress situations.
  • Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
  • Current BLS CPR Certification

Paramedic

The Paramedic performs advanced emergency medical care in the pre-hospital setting, providing critical life-saving interventions to patients in need. Serving as a key member of a two-person response team, the Paramedic represents both themselves and the department with professionalism, integrity, and compassion at all times.

As the designated provider of Advanced Life Support (ALS), the Paramedic is responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, performing advanced assessments and procedures, administering medications, following established medical protocols, and leading patient care during emergency response and transport.

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Paramedic to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide advanced life support (ALS) care to patients in emergency and non-emergency settings, ensuring the highest level of treatment, safety, and professionalism during response and transport.

As a Paramedic, you will play a critical leadership role in emergency response, performing advanced assessments, administering medications, and delivering life-saving interventions in accordance with Pennsylvania ALS protocols.

  • Responsibilities
  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including advanced physical examinations.
  • Provide advanced life support care in emergency and critical situations.
  • Administer medications and intravenous therapies in accordance with PA ALS protocols.
  • Perform advanced airway management, cardiac monitoring, and other ALS procedures.
  • Interpret cardiac rhythms and initiate appropriate treatment.
  • Lead patient care during emergency responses and transport.
  • Drive and operate emergency response vehicles safely and efficiently.
  • Document patient assessments, treatments, and outcomes accurately and thoroughly.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Collaborate with EMS partners and first responders to ensure coordinated patient care.
  1. Qualifications
  • Pennsylvania State Paramedic Certification.

  • Valid EMSVO (Emergency Vehicle Operator) certification (if required).

  • Knowledge of Pennsylvania ALS protocols and procedures.

  • Proficiency in advanced airway management, IV/IO access, medication administration, and cardiac monitoring.

  • Strong understanding of medical terminology and emergency medicine principles.

  • Ability to perform effectively in high-stress, rapidly evolving situations.

  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.

  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.

  • Current BLS, ACLS, and other required certifications.
